These are some of the highlights from my AZ trip.
Most Bizarre Purchase while Traveling:
"Pink Death": Pink Death is not just any ordinary toy gun that shoots little discs. It is a necessity in the wild as it can fend off bears, mountain lions, and javalina (skunk/pig/man creatures native to AZ), which were all species we ran into during our stay in Arizona. Pretty much a lifesaver. Not to mention it was pink.
Best Friends: Gremz and Fresh:
Founding members of the "dwarf galaxy" aka short peoples club. They are always looking for new members to join so if they win it would be great publicity for their group and their cause...(which is: short people are cool after all...) Also they like pottery and hippie things. All things BFFs share.
Trip Song:
At Last/Arizona (Remix)
A) because we found our true loves on the trip....each other. It only took us about a 26 hour drive and 6 nights of rugged camping to realize we were all meant for each other. B) Arizona should pretty much be the Arizona State song. Yes, it's that amazing.
Funny Story of the Trip:
"AZ Hat Trick": One of the highest point of our trip occurred one night shortly after dinner. Our group had just finished yet again another fantastic meal and was now relaxing around the dinner table talking about our day. Then out of nowhere in the distance we saw a small deer emerge on top of the mountain.Someone shouted, "Deeeer!"Our group silenced at once and looked in the direction of the pointed finger. And there it was, in front of our eyes, an innocent little creature of mother nature. It's poised body silhouetted by the setting sun.We all sighed in unison and reverted to "ohs" and "ahs."Little did we know that we were in for a treat.Literally a few seconds later, our initial contact deer hopped along and then there it was.Our second deer sighting in a row.We broke out into a hysterical cheer almost as if we were rooting for the graceful creature and congratulating it on its beauty. The deer froze, almost as if it were posing and dipped it's small head as if it were bowing in acknowledgment. What happened next can only be described as the epitome of bliss on our trip.As soon as that second deer vanished into the dry, Arizona sky, a third deer trailing the second deer jumped into the picture. Our group was blown away that we could be so lucky to witness such a hat trick. There was no way you could make out any audible cheers in the hysteria that occurred, other than a few screams and cooing calls. This was the final piece that needed to occur for our trip to bond.
anyways, maybe if i have more time in the near future i'll write posts that are longer than a few sentences.
