so i'm pretty sure everybody knows that i was at lolla this weekend, seeing how i had that awesome away message up for the past 3 days, haha.

this was my first lolla experience, and overall, the whole thing was amazing which was partially due to the unbeatable lineup they had this year. Serioulsy, I have no idea how they are going to follow this line up for lolla 2009. (unless they get third eye blind, right bgebs? haha, you know its true)

anyways, i wanted to go into what the typical lolla experience was like for those who couldn't be there.

sights:
-lots of bros and hipsters, some areas it seemed like a walking abercrombie ad

-music
-and lots of dumb people trying to act like they knew about music and the band they were about to see
-lots of clapping

diet:
-does pot count?
-oh and water, lots of it
-other peoples' bodily fluid, seeing how we were constantly in a giant orgy in grant park it seemed....all part of the experience

wardrobe:
-shirt OR no shirt?
-if yes, do i wear my favorite shirt with that witty comment/drawing OR that tight, brightly colored shirt OR my concert t-shirt stating that i went to bonnaroo/lolla '93/insert-any-other-band-here concert tour shirt OR anything from american apparel?
-hipster glasses OR shutter shades OR aviators?
-bandana OR sweat band?


who i saw:

day 1:: started at manchester orchestra, then rogue wave, yeasayer, part of duffy, the black keys, one song for Your Vegas, one song for Grizzly Bear, then onto Bloc Party, into Radiohead

day 2:: does it offend you, yeah?, dr. dog, waited about an hour for MGMT, then EXPLOSIONS IN THE SKY, okkervil river, one song for uffie (only for bgebs), lupe fiasco, then closed it off with rage

day 3:: what made milwaukee famous, the whigs, john bulter trio, newton faulkner, g.love & special sauce, blues travelers to listen to 'run around' haha, THE NATIONAL, then long trek back to see kanye

anyways, i'll have to post more on lolla later, i just wanted to get a quick post in here about the basics of what lolla was for me

i'll post on the disaster that was friday night later, and post some of my favorite pictures of the weekend

now i must go do nothing in naperville

soooo i prob. had one of the most randomest/most frustrating nights of my life....


let's just put it this way: clair remember when i told you bad news bears last night and how we were terribly lost....well, being lost in downtown chicago for an hour was prob. the most comfortable we felt all night. From that point on it just went from worst to worst...

i'm sure i'll laught about it tomorrow, not today though when i only got 4 hours of sleep last night and have to stand for 9 hours straight today in 90 degree sunshiney weather.

woot. all part of the experience i guess.
