conversations of sorority life....

three very loquacious girls standing next to the circ desk at grainger:

"i think we need to move away from station, you know, we're like seniors now"

"why the hell would you want to take that class, we're essentially paying $30,000 for someone to teach us out of a $30 book....like, really?"

"i think i'm going to stay in more now, like why do i need to go out, it's not like i need to bring a guy home anymore, you know?"

"we liked mapped out our whole lives at greek reunion"

"like how do you close out a tab"

there were more things they rambled on about but i think this gives you a general idea of the intellectual conversation they had

time for a change?

lately i have been getting suggestions from random readers that i should move onto a "tumblr"

thus, i am seriously considering it.

i have also been told that moving on to a new format will make me update more.

we'll see.

for the one and only mary

you are amazing.

thank you for all your loyal support. haha.

anyways,

summertime in the CU has begun once again, i think it's my third summer in a row down here, thus you can assume that i love it here. Summertime in the CU is far better than regular life on campus during the school year for many reasons:

a) no line at any of the bars (unless you count classy cly's -- who have insanely comfortable couches where i might have passed out on for half an hour one night...)
b) quad is empty.
c) heckling freshemen on tours.
d) throwing stuff at said freshmen.
e) everybody knows everybody.

I mean there are other reasons beside these listed. The whole atmosphere of the place changes and you just become adjusted to this new campus-feel. Once august rolls around, that's when you realize how much you hate everybody at our school 'cause once you start noticing the quad to fill up you get annoyed, haha. Seriously, though i can't wait to enjoy this summer. Also, as all my readers know (i'm looking at you mary, haha) i post all my blog updates during summertime while i'm working at grainger so come here and look out for some more updates.

In the meantime here is my summertime schedule:

MON: Brother's Trivia Night (return of reading rainbow?)
TUES: P-Man.
WED: Karaoke night at White-Ho.
THURS: Murhpy's or other alcoholic establishment
FRI: who knows.

So that might go unchanged for the rest of summer, so if you need to fine me turn to this list.

Happy Summertime folks,

through the eyes of an asian...(pt.2)

random musings of gripes and likes:

1) ARE YOU SERIOUS ILLINI?!??? LOSING TO WESTERN KENTUCKY???? blah, i mean true we were missing our point guard, but come on, we could've beat them.

2) I find it humorous when other schools start 'celebrating' and bashing Illini's loss in the tourney. Ummm, last time i checked YOUR SCHOOL ISN'T EVEN ON THE BRACKET...so yea...but whatever.

3) i hate duke.

4) i'm seriously thinking about getting a twitter. at first i laughed at the idea and thought it was stupid that people did this...then facebook changed it's layout and is pretty much a twitter now. constant status updates have facebook annoying me these days so i might just succumb to twitterness....

5)i've noticed that those who say they don't care about 'image' are really the ones that care about it the most

6) so i was at mccalisters the other day and this person went up to the counter after waiting in line for a long-ass time and then told the lady, wait this isn't going to take awhile i have a bus to catch....are you serious dude? did you not notice the long line you were standing in for the last 10 minutes? haha

7) i have been periodically deleting music off my mac because i have officially ran out of space. i was down to 400MB at one point and that just made me sad. Thus, i have been going through and randomly deleting music that i no longer listen to. Some of the bands that have fallen to this fate are: my chemical romance, bowling for soup, korean rap, korean ballads, korean trance, some dmb....etc....to be continued.

8) all the 'i hate the new facebook' statuses. okay, we get it. you hate the new layout. as you did the last time they changed it. and the time before that. and you'll prob. be saying it the next 10 times they decide to change it in the future. moral of the story is that you will continue to use it despite the fact on how much you 'hate' "new" facebook. so suck it up and shut it. or just get off of it all together to show facebook how much you REALLY hate it, yeaaa, do that, that'll show mark zuckerburg (sp).

9) i find this group amusing:

haha, wow, if you got to this group you'll notice that there about 10123123 steps...all to get "old" facebook back. wow.

people are funny.

let me know if anyone has done this...

10) and finally, ricky found this while at work:

who would do this to their kid?

well that's about it folks.

i'm off of work and now heading to FLORIDA FOR MY POSSIBLE LAST ASB TRIP.

hope everyone has a great break.

catch you later.

flippy floppies

it's been awhile since i've written on this thing. don't worry, i have not forgotten about the literary classics that have been documented in this journal for the past couple of months. it's just that i have not had time to sit down and actually write, mostly due to laziness, partially due to time constraints. It was much easier to write in this thing during the summer when my only obligations were: grainger, piano man, booze. Now that school and life got in the way, I have found it much more difficult to write some worthy posts.

at the current moment in time i have nothing to write about. i just felt i should sign in and write something to let all my readers (all 4 of you that is) know that dj big korea is still alive and kicking.

what's funny is, lately i've been taking random mental notes on blog post ideas as i am walking on the quad or sitting in class. But the problem here is that i don't have a very good short-term memory so by the time i laugh and say to myself "brilliant!" i tend to forget immediately as to what i was so giddy about. Story of my life I suppose.

so there is a book in front of me titled, "How to Win Friends....." While I don't see how this book has sold "millions and millions" of copies as the book claims, I am still very intrigued to open and read it all the way through. I guess that's how it sold so much.....interesting. Maybe by perusing through this material I will learn a few things about where i went wrong with some people.....haha, JJJJKKKKKK.....yea, sooooo that's pretty much what i have been up to. Nothing too exciting.

Must head out now though,

peace out fellow loyal reader(s)....

manbearpig

These are some of the highlights from my AZ trip.

Most Bizarre Purchase while Traveling:

"Pink Death": Pink Death is not just any ordinary toy gun that shoots little discs. It is a necessity in the wild as it can fend off bears, mountain lions, and javalina (skunk/pig/man creatures native to AZ), which were all species we ran into during our stay in Arizona. Pretty much a lifesaver. Not to mention it was pink.

Best Friends: Gremz and Fresh:

Founding members of the "dwarf galaxy" aka short peoples club. They are always looking for new members to join so if they win it would be great publicity for their group and their cause...(which is: short people are cool after all...) Also they like pottery and hippie things. All things BFFs share.

Trip Song:

At Last/Arizona (Remix)

A) because we found our true loves on the trip....each other. It only took us about a 26 hour drive and 6 nights of rugged camping to realize we were all meant for each other. B) Arizona should pretty much be the Arizona State song. Yes, it's that amazing.

Funny Story of the Trip:

"AZ Hat Trick": One of the highest point of our trip occurred one night shortly after dinner. Our group had just finished yet again another fantastic meal and was now relaxing around the dinner table talking about our day. Then out of nowhere in the distance we saw a small deer emerge on top of the mountain.Someone shouted, "Deeeer!"Our group silenced at once and looked in the direction of the pointed finger. And there it was, in front of our eyes, an innocent little creature of mother nature. It's poised body silhouetted by the setting sun.We all sighed in unison and reverted to "ohs" and "ahs."Little did we know that we were in for a treat.Literally a few seconds later, our initial contact deer hopped along and then there it was.Our second deer sighting in a row.We broke out into a hysterical cheer almost as if we were rooting for the graceful creature and congratulating it on its beauty. The deer froze, almost as if it were posing and dipped it's small head as if it were bowing in acknowledgment. What happened next can only be described as the epitome of bliss on our trip.As soon as that second deer vanished into the dry, Arizona sky, a third deer trailing the second deer jumped into the picture. Our group was blown away that we could be so lucky to witness such a hat trick. There was no way you could make out any audible cheers in the hysteria that occurred, other than a few screams and cooing calls. This was the final piece that needed to occur for our trip to bond.

anyways, maybe if i have more time in the near future i'll write posts that are longer than a few sentences.

two double o nine

so here we are.

2009.

i'll post something later reflecting back to 2008, which happened to be a long, eventful-filled year. 2008 i feel like was a year of change...in many ways. but i'll go into that later.

anyways, celebrated the entrance into the new year back down at school in Firehaus. The cover was $25 and we had to buy them in advance. Needless to say the place was sold-out and packed. Ran into a bunch of people there and couldn't think of any other people to ring in 09...well, there were a few people missing...

all the drinks were 99cents so we took advantage of that...in copious amounts. we then headed to our usual spot murphys after the midnight toast around 1am and ended the first few hours of 2009 there.

highlights of the night:

1) running into mountain CAIT and eating her food.
2) convincing everybody in the bar that "robbie kineval" was doing the stunt on tv when it was really "robbie madison" haha
3) the stunt itself. we were very captivated.
4) jaclyn saving the girl from her ex in the corner of the bar
5) silver skirt girl. she was not a skank guys.
6) jaclyn throwing beer in some kids face at murphys....hahahaha, so after marc, sarah and i turned on "miss you" this kid started grinding on jaclyn, she then got pissed and contemplated pouring her beer all over him, which she eventually succeeded in doing....what she should've done was throw it in his face when the incident happened and not waited about 20 min later and do it. the kid was drunk and confused. he then approached us and tried to start something but kenny tricked him into thinking he was just confused so the kid backed off. the kid later started walking around the whole bar looking at every blonde haired girl but could not find jaclyn....or forgot what she looked like. haha.

all in all a very good night and a very good way to start off the new year.

now i leave you with this:

enjoy.

woot 2009.
